LEARNING FROM HIRING ERRORS
One of the most stifling business practices is hiring all like-minded, similar characteristic people that blend into the status quo. The corporate culture must never be upheld by hiring the same type of people that see and think the same way. All that guarantees is the perpetuation of visual and cognitive limitations; which leads to missed opportunities and short- and long-term threats.
The best teams are diverse and eclectic; mixed with multiple visions and mindsets. This is the entire premise of teams. Prioritizing healthy, safe, and legal dissent and unorthodoxy (in relation to the status quo of businesses, of corporate cultures) is a key to cultivating and perpetuating step- change.
Just as a brain on autopilot is not always beneficial for the host (when it comes to learning and transforming cognitive capabilities), always preferring similarity and connectedness can also be detrimental to entities practicing such.
Incorporating this concept into your (single) mind by implanting as many different mindsets, perspectives helps to launch your cognitive abilities and performance to a level most can never begin to understand.
