Executive vs. Manager
View the "exec&mgr.mp4", then contemplate the below argument.
- Person A argues that the manager has a better mindset and vision of foundations because, as noted in the video, since the manager is on a lower level than the executive, i.e. a level closer to the company, to the workers, to the tasks to be done on a daily basis which compose the overall company strategy, then the manager has a greater thinking foundation which strategizes and executes the daily tasks that move the company forward. This is further evidenced by the fact that the executive has a more abstract-style thinking foundation which does not actually accomplish the daily tasks of the company.
- Person B argues that the executive has a better mindset and vision of foundations because, as noted in the video, since the executive is on a higher level than the manager, i.e. a level that allows him to see further, then the executive has a greater thinking foundation which has the ability to see, plan, and execute the strategies that advance the company on a tremendously more powerful level. The executive then delegates the lower level tasks, the tactics that compose the strategies, to the managers who, in turn, delegate them to their subordinate employees who actually conduct those tasks. Those tasks having been created from the strategies which were created by the executive.
